Pediatric Cancer

As part of the UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center, we offer the only comprehensive pediatric oncology program in Central Massachusetts. Our multidisciplinary team of pediatric health care professionals offer coordinated care for infants, children, adolescents and young adults with all types of cancer. We work collaboratively with other clinical teams, as needed, to provide comprehensive cancer care for the children and families we care for. Our focus is on the most advanced medical care combined with the best emotional support for your child and your family—and because of our relatively small size, our team can provide a level of personalized care that larger institutions simply cannot match.

We are a member institution of the worldwide Children’s Oncology Group (COG)—the most experienced organization in the world in clinical development of new therapeutics for children and adolescents with cancer. As a COG member, we offer frontline treatment, including clinical trials involving new and emerging medicines, for many types of childhood cancers. This means that the latest treatments available nationwide are also available to children in Central Massachusetts.

At UMass Cancer Center, our researchers and clinicians are dedicated to finding new treatment options for patients. Our clinical trials program is another way we continue to advance treatments and make new discoveries.
