Security And System Support Team

The ACES2 Security and Systems Support team is responsible for providing access and maintaining data in the HR and Finance systems.  This includes various applications in production and test environments for the entire UMass Chan Campus. Our team works to provide users with access to applications and modules while supporting the systems when issues arise.   Our goal is to help users to gain access they need to perform their jobs in timely manner and provide prompt support to the various systems.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Campus wide IDM Security provisioning, PeopleSoft access for HR and Finance, BuyWays and Summit dashboards
  • Serve as a liaison with business owners, IT, UITS, UPST and vendors
  • Create new departments, speed types, projects ids as requested as well as maintain all aspects of the department security, activations, and deactivations in PeopleSoft.  Ensure data is correct across all systems.
  • Maintain department reporting structure in PeopleSoft/Summit.
  • Produce and deliver various reports to end users as scheduled or ad hoc
  • Provide timely customer service to all users while being in compliance with our standards of operation
  • Maintain the Financial Services website and make changes/updates as necessary

Project Management Team

The ACES2 Project Management team is responsible for governing and executing UMass Chan projects and supervising the successful delivery of tasks and milestones such that projects be delivered on time and on budget.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Development and oversight of project plans and related artifacts
  • Managing deliverables by leading and directing the team 
  • Establishing a project schedule and ensuring it is maintained
  • Assigning tasks to team members 
  • Managing changes, risks and escalations 
  • Tracking progress and  quality parameters 
  • Updating the management on status, blockers, and progress 
  • Closing the project with final updates

Analytics Team

The ACES2 Informatics and Analytics team is responsible for providing timely and accurate reporting and insights for all departments within Administration and Finance.  Our analytics team works to understand the needs of the business and to provide solutions that address those needs.   Our goal is to help users to better understand and leverage data at UMass Chan.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with other A&F departments to build a data roadmap
  • Create analytic reports and dashboard to help the organization to make data driven decisions. 
  • Provide new solutions to improve automation and provide more streamlined processes for existing solutions.
  • Work with business users to understand reporting needs which can include updating existing reports and providing ways to use data to track projects and initiatives.
  • Provide support in understanding data and advise on how best to analyze it.

Research Management Support Team

The ACES2 Research Management Support team is responsible for governing and supporting Research Management System at the System level as well as Grants/SF424 and Agreements Modules.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategically roll out, build and support Research Management short term and long term roadmap
  • Build and support related reporting strategy.
  • Execute Governance meetings to ensure system integrity across modules
  • Manage projects related to and actively involved in upgrades, enhancements, add-ons, and modifications
  • Serve as system administrator for system security and audit
  • Serve as a liaison with business owners, IT, UITS, and vendors
  • Serve as SME for supporting functionalities including troubleshooting or providing alternative solutions
  • Coordinate with other related departments using the same system to ensure an effective common system that effectively serves across modules.
