Chinmay Trivedi, MD, PhD

Research Focus - Congenital cardiac and vascular disease are the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in the developed world. The research goal of the Trivedi lab is to identify cellular processes and regulatory mechanisms involved in human cardiac and vascular diseases.

Our discoveries have opened new areas of investigation and uncovered essential roles of chromatin-modifying enzymes and signaling pathways in the pathogenesis of human genetic diseases, such as lymphatic vascular disease (The Journal of Clinical Investigation), mitochondrial and metabolic disease (Science Advances), hepatic vascular hemangiomas (Journal of Experimental Medicine), malignant vascular tumor - Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma (ATVB), congenital heart disease (JBC), cardiac progenitor cell differentiation (Human Molecular Genetics), cardiomyocyte proliferation (Developmental Cell, JBC), craniofacial defects (Developmental Dynamics), and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (Nature Medicine).
