Divisional faculty members provide the majority of cardiovascular diseases teaching in the UMass Chan foundation of medicine course, serve as preceptors for physical diagnosis courses, and as mentors for individual students. At a post-graduate level, faculty members serve as clinical and research mentors for resident physicians and fellows in all aspects of cardiovascular medicine. They also provide community forums on common cardiovascular conditions and have patient education and support groups related to heart device implants, arrhythmias, and heart failure treatment.
