Research Focus - Delivery of Drugs, Protein/Antibody, and DNA/RNA

  • Small-molecule delivery — development of a highly versatile, tunable, and nontoxic delivery system for hydrophobic small molecules (our start-up company based on this technology focuses on delivery to liver cells)
  • Protein and antibody delivery — development of a novel shrink-wrapping technology that protects proteins from protease degradation and provides access to cellular interiors, providing an opportunity to drug undruggable intracellular targets using therapeutic antibodies 
  • Nucleic acid delivery — development of a non-cationic lipid-polymer nanoparticle that delivers siRNA and ds-microRNA efficiently; the non-charged nature obviates toxicity, while offering efficient delivery.
