President Biden recently reignited the Cancer Moonshot program, which calls for cutting cancer deaths by half in the next 25 years. One way to achieve this goal is to improve early detection and prevention methods. At UMass Chan, Shyam Patel, MD, PhD, is doing his part! In the video below, Dr. Patel describes the results of a research study that he will present at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology in December 2022. The innovative study describes a novel method for detecting the very earliest signs of blood cancer.
