AI for Bioinformatics Bootcamp (Fall 2026)

The Bioinformatics Core's six-week bootcamp pairs the theory of modern genomics, from bulk RNA-Seq through single-cell to spatial transcriptomics, with the responsible use of AI in research. It is written for working scientists across domains, including grad students, postdocs, bench researchers, and core-facility users, with mixed to low coding background. No prior Linux, programming, or machine learning experience is assumed, and everything runs in a browser. Every technique is taught on a real published study from GarberLab, and every analysis runs end to end on Foundry Connect. Two questions run through all six sessions: understand the theory well enough to judge what an AI assistant gives you, and use AI to go faster without going wrong. Responsible AI is not a closing lecture; it is its own session and a checkpoint inside every other one, which matters when some people in the room work with patient data.
