Research Focus: The Ali team develops antiviral drug candidates using structure-based design strategies to avoid resistance.

Scientific Training: Akbar Ali received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry under a DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) split Ph.D. program, working with Prof. Viqar Uddin Ahmed at University of Karachi and Prof. Jürgen Liebscher at Humboldt-Universität. He did post-doctoral training with Prof. A. Paul Krapcho at University of Vermont and Prof. Tariq M. Rana at UMass Chan Medical School.”
