Seden, born and raised in Turkey, embarked on her scientific journey at Yeditepe University where she completed her undergraduate degree in Genetics and Bioengineering in 2018 and worked on a novel chondro-inductive scaffold for tissue engineering purposes. She received her master’s degree at Sabanci University in 2020. Her master’s thesis identified and functionally analyzed a novel mutation that leads to primary immunodeficiency disease. She was awarded a Fulbright scholarship candidacy and began her Ph.D. in the US at UMass Chan. Before starting her Ph.D. in the US, she gained scientific experience in Europe at the University Hospital Zurich, University Medical Center Goettingen, Hannover Medical School, and Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research.  Her fascination with bioinspired design, synthetic biology, and interdisciplinary research sparked her interest in Li Lab. Her current Ph.D. research is focused on utilizing in vitro evolution techniques to engineer synthetic mRNA for establishing a novel RNA therapeutics platform.
