I completed my undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at the University of Delhi, India, where I explored how bio-toxicants influence zebrafish embryonic development. I then joined the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) in Göttingen for my Master’s in Molecular Biology, specializing in mRNA translation. To continue exploring the intricacies of translation, I pursued my doctoral studies in Prof. Marina Rodnina’s lab at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, where I investigated how mRNA modifications in coding regions affect the fidelity and accuracy of protein synthesis. Currently, in the Li Lab, my research focuses on how chemical modifications in the 5′ UTR influence mRNA stability and translation efficiency, and on applying these insights to develop improved mRNA therapeutics. Outside the lab, I enjoy baking and traveling to discover new places.
