Karin Valentine Goins and other conduct a walkability audit of Lincoln Street

Assessing ways to make Lincoln Street safer

Following the death of a pedestrian crossing Lincoln Street at a crosswalk in September, the Green Hill Neighborhood Association, WalkBoston, WalkBike Worcester, the Worcester Division of Public Health, the Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission, students from WPI and others conducted a walkability assessment of Lincoln Street. The goal was to identify ways to make Lincoln Street safer to walk, bike and drive. The group will use this information to make recommendations to the city for improvements, and will most likely involve adding crosswalks, signs, and even artwork.
