PICU
Welcome to the PICU! Get yourself ready by reviewing your Goals and Objectives. If you haven't seen the PICU Prep page, check that out for any other review.
Here are your PICU resources:
- The 2021 PICU Guideboook - review in full before you begin! Note: this is draft 1, more updates are coming soon
- The UMass PICU team has a channel on OpenPediatrics (called UMass PICU) which contains lectures on different PICU topics to supplement resident education. These videos should be used in conjunction with in-person lectures and simulation sessions.
- Please create an account on OpenPeds using your “Umassmemorial.org” email account and code UMassPICU
- There are 5 different sections on OpenPeds:
- Cardiology
- Respiratory
- Shock
- Neurology
- Miscellaneous
- Within each section, there are core lectures and supplementary lectures
- Every week, residents should choose one section to learn
- The expectation is that the residents watch all the core lectures from every section
- The supplementary lectures are optional, but are still useful for increasing
resident’s medical knowledge on critical care topics
- Review this powerpoint about central lines and tubes by our own Lauren Fortier (2020)
- Presenting in the PICU guide by Dr. Mandy Johnson
- Check out Part 1 and Part 2 of the Introduction to Codes training in the Resources tab
