Yale Curriculum

What it is: A series of common general pediatrics topics and management guidelines presented in the context of brief clinical scenarios. There are about 100 topics!!!

Ideal Audience: PL-1, 2, and 3 (Especially those with Primary Care/Hospitalist Interests!)

Why it is great: Succinct cases, summaries of the most recent treatment guidelines, clinical pearls at the end of each vignette, and links to resources in primary literature for additional reading.

How to access it: Yale Primary Care Pediatrics Curriculum Website OR Softcover versions which are available in Continuity Clinic Offices. Online, you can use either the learner or moderator logins; the moderator one has access to more information. Check with Monick for our current login information, then save it for future use.

How much time to budget for this: Each topic takes about 15 minutes to read in entirety

Other thoughts/comments/advice: There are many cases to choose from! PL-1 learners may benefit from starting at the beginning initially, however more senior learners should prioritize high-yield/commonly seen topics in order to gain the most benefit. Suggested Starter Topics Include:

Common Newborn Concerns

Depression

Breastfeeding

UTI

Abnormal Head Size and Shape

Constipation

Heart Murmurs

Headache/Concussion

Hypertension

Asthma
