The AAP's Bioethics Case Based Teaching Guides for Resident Training
What it is: The AAP Section on Bioethics and Committee on Bioethics have together responded to the need for bioethics education in pediatric training programs. They have developed a case-based modular curriculum designed to function as a how-to resource for residency and fellowship training programs.
Why it is great: Case-based learning on complex ideas with balanced discussions. Many links to other related articles and learning to dive in deeper as you wish.
How to access it: Go to this webpage where files are available for download.
How much time to budget for it: Each of the 22 Modules can be skimmed in 20-30 minutes, or you may need more like an hour to dive in.
Other thoughts/comments/advice: There are modules related to newborns, cardiology, equity and justice, genetics, etc - consider incorporating a module related to another rotation while you rotate. Print our the module to share and stimulate discussion!
