Faculty Review | Capstone Project Final Write-up

Use this form to submit your evaluation for each of the Capstone Final Project Reports assigned to you.

  • Please note your start time in order to respond accurately to question 4: ...time spent reviewing this Project Report...

  • We remind you that comments are highly recommended to help students understand strengths and areas for improvement.
    • Comments should be written in language that the reviewer is comfortable having students read directly.
    • Comments are required when a section "does not meet expectations".
    • type "n/a" if you have no feedback to offer.
    • Question #2: Additional feedback to support the student's continued learning is required
  • A copy of your review (excluding any confidential comments) will be forwarded by the Capstone Leadership Team to the student and their project advisor.

  • We ask that you do not send feedback directly to the student or the named Capstone Project Advisor.

Introduction | Clear Goals *

The student explicitly states the basic purposes for the work, which includes why the student selected this project, and defines realistic, achievable goals. Includes information as to why this is an important question (or objective)

Introduction | Adequate Preparation *

The student outlines the background of his or her specific project topic, citing three or more sources, resources or experiences (eg, professional literature, patient history taking, case review, skills development, talking to experts, associated FCEs, similar or legacy project information). The introduction includes discussion of the scholarly activity, how it fits into the current knowledge base and it reflects a basic understanding of the field.

Note: minimum of 3 citations may occur across the entire final report

Methods | Appropriate methods and processes *

Student clearly describes the approach to the project and describes how this approach aligns with defined goals.

The student defines the specific components of the methodology and explains why these were chosen. Methods are appropriate for the project. Challenges encountered are shared including how they were addressed.

Results *

The product reflects understanding and/or achievement and is consistent with the goals of the project. Appropriate data and or outcomes, and analysis are reported, including unexpected results or missing data.

Results explained in the context of project goals, as well as others’ work. Unexpected, positive, deficient outcomes explained, describing alternative approaches. Future implications and or next steps explained or developed.

Reference Section | Number and Appropriateness *

The reference list should appear at the end of the paper, and provides the information necessary for the reader to locate and retrieve any source cited in the body of the paper. Each source cited in the paper must appear in the reference list; likewise, each entry in the reference list must be cited in the text.
