UMass Chan looks to fill hundreds of jobs through March 30 Career Fair

UMass Chan Medical School has approximately 600 employment opportunities, most new positions added due to growth across the institution. To help fill these positions, the Human Resources Department is holding a Career Fair on Wednesday, March 30, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Beechwood Hotel, at 363 Plantation Street, across from the Medical School. Those interested in attending are encouraged to preregister and bring their résumés. Free parking is available.

as well as a number of academic and administrative departments will
be on hand to answer questions and interview job applicants on the spot.

“Pretty much every skill imaginable is needed,” said Barbara Guertin, executive recruiter for UMass Chan’s Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement team. “We created this open house career fair so that candidates could meet UMass Chan’s faculty and staff, who are eager to share their passion for innovation and serving the mission of our institution with the community. Meeting in person will help showcase the excitement of our work, and, hopefully, help fill many of our openings.”

Massachusetts’ first and only public academic health sciences center comprises three graduate schools and two business divisions, MassBiologics of UMass Chan Medical School and Commonwealth Medicine. Representatives from the two business divisions and the following departments will be on hand to answer questions and interview job applicants on the spot: biochemistry and molecular biotechnology; emergency medicine; facilities management; information technology; molecular, cell and cancer biology; neurobiology; ophthalmology and visual sciences; and psychiatry. The Horae Gene Therapy Center and UMass Center for Clinical and Translational Science will also have representatives at the event.

The career fair will be an opportunity for applicants to learn more about the available jobs and the benefits UMass Chan offers its employees.

“Through the UMass Chan People Strategy, UMass Chan Human Resources provides our employees—our people—with support and professional development while fostering and nurturing a diverse workforce and an inclusive work environment where all are empowered, valued and recognized for their contributions,” said Deborah L. Harnois, JD, deputy executive vice chancellor of people strategy.
