The UMass Chan Prevention Research Center is promoted confidence and use of COVID-19 vaccines among youth and families in Worcester, Massachusetts. Funded by the CDC's Prevention Research Network, we amplifyiied the voices of youth and families through our Worcester Vaccine Ambassador media campaign. This work was in partnership with the City of Worcester’s Office of Health and Human Services and many youth-serving agencies.

This program will enhance the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s Vaccine Equity Initiative. In Worcester, MA, this initiative focuses on Latinx, African American, and African communities, which have experienced the greatest burden of COVID-19 and have the lowest vaccination rates to date.

This 16-month project is led by UMass Chan PRC’s Co-Directors Stephenie C. Lemon, PhD; Deputy Director Amy Borg, and Coordinator Princilla Minkah.
