Golf tournament raises $10,000 for colorectal cancer research

July 2017

Clubs for Colorectal Cancer golf tournament

The 6th annual Clubs for Colorectal Cancer Golf Tournament and Benefit Dinner, hosted by the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center, was a huge success this year, raising nearly $10,000 for colorectal cancer research.

“This continues to be my favorite day of the year for UMass Memorial Medical Center,” said Paul Sturrock, MD, colorectal surgeon. “Seeing our caregivers and supporters out there alongside the patients we work so hard for makes this a truly amazing event. My thanks go out to all who made the day possible, and the countless others who couldn’t join us but still donated so generously.”

About 75 players and dinner guests, including physicians, community members and patients, attended the event, which was held on Jun 9, 2017, at Blackstone National Golf Club.
