Milagros Rosal, PhD (She/Her/Ella)

Dr. Milagros C. Rosal,  the UMass Chan Vice Provost for Health Equity, is the inaugural Imoigele P. Aisiku, MD Chair in Health Equity and Diversity and a professor in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School. Dr. Rosal is Co-Director of the UMass Center for Clinical and Translational Science K Award Program and Co-Director of the CDC-funded UMass Chan Prevention Research Center (2014-2023).  

Dr. Rosal is an internationally recognized expert in health disparities and women and minority health. She is a behavioral scientist with a 25-year record of serving as PI or co-leader on 40+ federally funded research studies. Dr. Rosal has expertise in the conceptualization, development and implementation of behavioral interventions, clinical trials and qualitative methods. Her content expertise includes prevention and management of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular risk and psychosocial factors associated with cardiometabolic risk.
