Mara Meyer Epstein, ScD, Associate Professor

Research Focus - The research goal of Dr. Mara Epstein is in cancer epidemiology with a focus on prostate cancer and hematological cancers, specifically multiple myeloma and its precursor, monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance.

Additional interests include: examining predictors of survival among cancer patients, and utilizing large population-based datasets to examine trends in mortality and cancer screening practices. Dr. Epstein's current work focuses on utilizing electronic health records and health claims data to conduct epidemiologic research and to develop case-finding data algorithms. Her past projects have included molecular and nutritional epidemiology analyses related to prostate and hematological cancers. She is a faculty member at the Meyers Primary Care Institute, a former participant in the Cancer Research Network Scholars Program, and a current AGING Initiative Multiple Chronic Conditions Scholar. She is also the site Principal Investigator at UMass Chan for the NIH-funded All of Us Research Program.
