Meet Our Fellows 2025-2026

Shannon McCleery, PsyD
Fellow in the Fitchburg Family Medicine Residency
Shannon is a second-year fellow based at Fitchburg Family Practice. Shannon earned her BA in Psychology from Rutgers University. She completed her MS and PsyD in Clinical Psychology with a major area of study in Health Psychology at Antioch University New England. Shannon's dissertation was titled The Impact of Workplace Support and Job Control on Burnout in Nurses. She completed her predoctoral internship at AllCare Medical Centers through the Centerstone Consortium in Bradenton, FL. Shannon's clinical interests are include chronic care management, integrative behavioral medicine, and anxiety management.

Gabrielle Piela, PhD
Fellow in the Worcester Family Medicine Residency
Gabrielle Piela is a first-year fellow in family medicine at UMass Chan. Gabrielle has worked in various clinical health settings, including the Maria Fareiri Children's Hospital, where she provided therapeutic services to children and families with cancer diagnoses, the Audrey Hepburn Children's House, where she provided evaluations and treatment for victims of child abuse and neglect, and Confluence Health, a rural healthcare center where she provided both integrated behavioral health services and outpatient therapy to patients across the lifespan. Gabrielle is a passionate patient advocate and brings a client-centered, existential, intersectional approach to all clinical interactions. Her clinical interests include chronic health conditions, gender-affirming care, identity formation, trauma, and working with adolescents and young adults. Outside of clinical work, Gabrielle enjoys skiing and hiking, knitting, and playing guitar.
