Every day at UMass Chan Medical School we have the honor of creating and maintaining an environment that supports healing, teaching and the discovery of new knowledge.
From our research laboratories exploring the dynamics of disease and the development of novel therapies, to patients of our campus clinical partner UMass Memorial Medical Center, to the next generation of physicians, nursing leaders and biomedical scientists learning here, our community improves individual lives and strives to create a healthier future for all people.
Our facilities management team rises to this mission, because we know UMass Chan’s vital work depends on us providing high-quality services and resilient infrastructure 24 hours a day 365 days a year.
We are responsible for nearly 5 million square-feet of built space across 70 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts. It is a complex academic medical center and university campus that requires a diverse and talented team in facilities planning, engineering, construction, maintenance, utilities generation, environmental health, safety, security and sustainability.
As part of the University of Massachusetts system, we are building technological bridges with other campuses, to leverage each other’s strengths to innovate together and improve the operations of the University system as a whole.
It’s a fast-paced, challenging environment that demands the best of people and rewards them with a special sense of satisfaction. At the end of their shift, our team members can go home knowing that they’ve made a difference in helping to improve the human condition.
We are focused on the long-term, which means embracing best-in-class tools and techniques and recruiting and mentoring the people who will not just carry on our work, but who embody the unity of purpose and commitment to quality which are the hallmarks of the UMass Chan Facilities organization
I invite you to explore all the pages of our site to learn more about the important work we do.
