Resident and Fellow Wellbeing

GME Residents and Fellows

UMass Graduate Medical Education (GME)  values your mental health and is prioritizing your access to expert, specialized, and private mental healthcare through a partnership with Tend Health.

Tend Health provides free, confidential counseling, coaching and medication management to all GME sponsored residents and fellows. Every House Officer, that is, any Graduate Medical Education (GME) sponsored resident or fellow, is eligible to receive services through Tend Health.

Tend Health specializes in providing mental health care to medical trainees. Tend Health’s Massachusetts licensed clinicians are passionate about and experienced working with residents and fellows. They have all  worked in healthcare settings alongside physicians and taught in health professions training programs, so you will not have to explain medical training to your clinician.

Your clinician  will work with your schedule to quickly find a suitable time to meet and all documentation is done in a  separate record. These services are not billed to your insurance.  No personal or identifying information will be shared with your program.
