Services and Contract Support

The Office of Management assists the UMass Chan community with services in the following areas impacting our Medical School campus, recognizing that the binding legal authority for the University of Massachusetts rests with the University's OGC.

  • Litigation
  • Subpoenas and legal proceedings, and nonfinancial audits and investigations
  • Employment issues
  • Student issues
  • Policy and statutory review and interpretation

Contracts and Interdepartmental Service Agreements

  • For those contracts not under the purview of the OGC, review terms, negotiate difficult contracts, process Contracts for Services Sold, and non-financial agreements for signature. 
  • Coordinate with the UMass Chan Office of Purchasing to review Contracts for Services Purchased for privacy and security compliance and other terms, as requested.
  • Review Interdepartmental Service Agreements (ISAs), negotiate terms of Administrative Services ISA with MassHealth and advise business units on compliance and privacy requirements. Consult with the UMass Chan Office of IT Security on data security language and requirements.

Business Associate, Data Use, Data Management, Nondisclosure, and Other Similar Agreements

  • Review agreements to determine applicability of these types of agreements.
  • Review and negotiate terms for these types of agreements.
