UMass Chan Medical School Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry

General Information

  • For positions starting July 1, 2024, and per AAPL ADFPF agreement: 
    • Interviews start on September 1, 2023, on a rolling basis
    • No offers until September 21, 2023
    • No binding offers until November 1, 2023
    • Start Date: flexible a case by case basis
  • Visa sponsorship: J1 (and possibly H1b).

Application Requirements

  • (1) Satisfy the following:
    • Applicants must have at least completed the requirements of an ACGME accredited general psychiatry residency at the time of start of the fellowship year.
    • Applicants must have a full Massachusetts medical license by the start date of fellowship.

  • (2) Documents to send:
    • General application form
      (AAPL application guidelinescommon application checklist)
    • Three letters of recommendation (including one from the program director), sent directly from the individual who completed the letter.
    • Two redacted writing samples (preferably at least one forensic report, but could also include a discharge summary, admission assessment, or journal article)
    • Personal statement (one page)
    • USMLE scores, and USMLE certificate when applicable
    • Medical diploma
  • (3) Sending the application
