Event Description
The 2025 theme for Women's History Month is "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations." This year's theme recognizes the influence and collective strength of women who have dedicated their lives to education, mentorship and leadership.
Jean King, PhD, the Peterson Family Dean of Arts & Sciences at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, is the keynote speaker for this event, hosted by the Women's Faculty Committee.
*All interested individuals are invited to attend, regardless of gender or gender identity.

Event Description
Emily Ladau is the author of the 2021 book Demystifying Disability: What to Know, What to Say, and How to be an Ally, which is the 2025 Diversity Campus Read book. She will join the Diversity and Inclusion Office for a virtual fireside chat conversation about how to be a thoughtful, informed ally to disabled people, with actionable steps for what to say and do (and what not to do).
About the author:
Emily Ladau is a passionate disability rights activist, writer, and communications and cultural access consultant. Her career began at the age of 10, when she appeared on multiple episodes of Sesame Street to educate about her life with a physical disability. Ladau’s writing has been published by such outlets as The New York Times, CNN, Vice and HuffPost and she has spoken before the U.S. Department of Education and the United Nations. Demystifying Disability is her first book.
