Resources for Faculty

The continued success and wellbeing of our faculty is a top priority in the BMB department. Many of our senior faculty have played active roles in the development of formal support and mentoring programs for junior faculty. The support structures available for our faculty are listed below:

Faculty Advancement

  • Vice Chair of Faculty Development Dan McCollum, PhD coordinates nomination of faculty for awards to increase local, national, and international recognition of their accomplishments.
  • In the BMB, each junior faculty member is assigned two faculty mentors.
  • The UMass Chan Office of Faculty Affairs website contains information about requirements for faculty applications, pathways to promotion, faculty development initiatives and more.
  • Investigator Career Advancement Program (iCAP) - an efficient, cohort-based approach to junior faculty development that includes mentorship and sponsorship. This program is run by Vice Chair Dr. Mary Munson.
  • The Diversity and Inclusion Office (DIO) works to support all faculty.
