Maria Mazzola was our graduating fellow in June 2022. She was the recipient of an NMSS Clinical Institutional Training Award. She trained in Neurology at Tufts University Medical Center. She joined the MS Center at Beth Israel Lahey Health in Burlington, Massachusetts. She has a faculty appointment, and she is a Co-Director of the Neurology Residency Program.

July 2020 - June 2021
Dalia Abou-Zeki was our graduating fellow in June 2021. She was the recipient of an NMSS Clinical Institutional Training Award. She trained in Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She is the Director of the MS Center at Atrium Health Neuroscience Institute of Neurology in Charlotte North Carolina, and she has a faculty position at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.

July 2019 - June 2020
Raffaella Umeton was our graduating fellow in June 2020. She was a recipient of an NMSS Clinical Institutional Training Award. She trained in Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She has dual sub specializations training in Neuroimmunology/MS and Headache disorders. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and the Director of the Headache Clinic created inside of MS Center. She has been a faculty member of UMASS MS Center and provided training to MS Fellows at UMass MS Center since 2020.Dr. Umeton is an active member of the NMSS New England Chapter.

July 2016 - June 2017
Evdokia Eleftheriou was our graduating fellow in June 2017. She was a recipient of an NMSS Clinical Institutional Training Award. She trained in Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She is an established MS Specialist at the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Maine Medical Partners Neurology in Scarborough, Maine. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Tufts University School of Medicine. She is an active member of the Greater New England Chapter of NMSS, Partners of MS Care and Centers of Comprehensive Care.

July 2015 - June 2017
Idanis Berrios Morales, M.D. was our graduating fellow in June 2017. She was a recipient of an NMSS Clinical Institutional Training Award. She trained in Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center where she serves as Co-Director of the UMASS MS Fellowship and Co-leader of the education track committee for the Neurology Residency. She has been a faculty member of UMASS MS Center and provided training to multiple MS Fellows at UMass MS Center since 2017. She has been also involved in multiple patient education activities with the NMSS-Great New England Chapter.

July 2010 - June 2011
Jonathan Cahill, M.D. was our graduating fellow in June 2011. He was a recipient of an NMSS Clinical Fellowship Award. He is currently an Associate Professor of Neurology, faculty member of the Brown University MS Center and Program Director of the Neurology Residency at Brown University Medical Center. He has been actively involved with the MS Society serving as a Board of Trustee in the NMSS -Great New England Chapter.

July 2010 - June 2011
Mac McLaughlin, M.D. was our graduating fellow in June 2011. He was a recipient of an NMSS Clinical Fellowship Awards. After completing his fellowship, he returned home to Nebraska where he is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and a faculty member of the Multiple Sclerosis Center at the University of Nebraska, Omaha.

August 2008 - August 2009
Biljana Beretich, M.D. was our graduating fellow in August 2009. She trained in Neurology at the University of New Mexico. She was a recipient of an NMSS Clinical Fellowship Award. After completing her MS Fellowship, she has established an MS specialty practice in Portland, ME and is an active member of the Greater New England Chapter of NMSS, Partners of MS Care and Centers of Comprehensive Care. She is the Director of MS Clinic at Scarborough, Maine, affiliated with Maine Medical Center.

August 2007 - August 2008
David E. Jones, MD was our graduating fellow in August 2008. He is fellowship trained as a MS-neurologist. He completed medical school at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, before moving to UMass Chan Medical school for his residency in neurology. David E. Jones, MD neuro-immunology fellowship was funded by the National MS Society. After completing the fellowship he worked at Lehigh Valley Health Netowrk for four years as the director of the MS Center of Lehigh Valley. In 2012, David Jones, MD joined the faculty at the University of Virginia Health Systems as an assistant professor of neurology. In 2012-2013, he was vice-chair of the MS Section of the AAN, American Academiy of Neurology. He became the elected chair of the MS Section in 2014. David Jones MD, was the director of Clinical Operations for the James Q. Miller MS Clinic in UVa. He is on the Medical Advisory Board of the MS Foundation, and is a program consultant for Can Do MS. HE is a member of the MS Coalition Emerging Therapies Collaborative.

August 2006 - August 2007
Carolina Ionete, MD, Ph.D. was our graduating fellow in August 2007. Currently, Carolina Ionete, MD, PhD, is a professor of neurology and the director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center. She trained in neurology and served as an assistant professor at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania from 1994-2002. She graduated a PhD in neurovirology in 2002. She completed American Neurology Training at UNMC/Creighton University Medical Center followed by MS/Neuroimmunology fellowship in the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 2007. She joined the UMASS Neurology and MS Center as Assistant Professor in 2007.
