Transplant Hepatology Fellowship

The Transplant Hepatology Fellowship at UMass Memorial Medical Center is currently being developed for internal GI fellowship candidates to complete GI and transplant hepatology training through a 3-year ACGME-accredited dual pathway. Our program hopes to offer a dynamic, comprehensive training experience in advanced liver disease and liver transplantation. As an extension of our GI fellowship program, this one-year accredited fellowship provides immersive clinical and academic training designed to build excellence in both patient care and research.

This program is distinguished by our passion and commitment to serve our community and is supported by a diverse team of clinical and research-focused hepatology and hepatobiliary surgery faculty dedicated to advancing the field. Fellows gain hands-on experience managing complex hepatology cases and participate in the full continuum of care for liver transplant patients—from listing and evaluation through post-transplant follow-up. With a growing transplant volume, UMass Memorial leverages cutting-edge technology and a robust multidisciplinary environment that includes close collaboration with expert transplant surgeons and interventional radiologists. Graduates of the program will be well-prepared to become leaders in liver disease management in either academic medicine or high-level clinical practice, equipped with the expertise to deliver exceptional hepatology and transplant care.
