Maryann Sanders has served as the Director of Compensation & Total Rewards at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School since February of 2019. Prior to joining UMass Chan, Maryann has worked in several different Human Resource roles including Acting Director of Compensation, HRIS Manager, Senior Compensation Consultant, Human Resources Project & Programs Manager, Performance Development Manager and Affirmative Action & Compliance Manager. The business sectors she has worked in include Healthcare (Dana-Farber Cancer Institute), Financial Services (State Street Corporation) and Retail (BJ’s Wholesale Clubs, Talbots, J Jill Group and Stop & Shop Corporate Offices).
In all of these positions, she has understood the importance of collaboration and the fact that the most single important asset to any company is its customer/client. She is driven by the unrelenting pursuit of client-driven focus and solutions that uniquely resolve complex issues at hand. She was one of the top graduates in her class and earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Simmons College. Part of her curriculum included a certification in Entrepreneurship where she worked on projects concerning Emerging Markets and Trends. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Boston College.

Nick Foundas joined the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in June of 2019 as a Senior Compensation Analyst/Partner. Prior to joining UMass Chan, he served as a Senior Compensation Analyst at Steward Health Care and Fresenius Medical Care. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business - Psychology from Assumption College.

Andy Thompson has served as a Senior Compensation Analyst/Partner for the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School since 2019. Prior to joining UMass Chan, he served as a Compensation Program Manager and a Senior Compensation Analyst at MAPFRE. He also served as a Senior Compensation Analyst at the TJX Companies. He holds a Certificate in Business Administration (as well as completed numerous business courses) from Santa Barbara Business College.

Kristen Holbrook joined the Compensation Team at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School in 2019 as the Compensation Regulatory MEPA Specialist. Prior to joining UMass Chan, she served as a Compensation Analyst at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and a Compensation Consultant at Fresenius Medical Care North America. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Worcester State University.
