BRIDGE Fund

The University of Massachusetts Medical School has established a new fund to support innovative scientific advances at the Medical School. The BRIDGE Fund will be guided by a newly established external advisory board (EAB) comprised of biotechnology industry leaders and will provide infusion of up to $1 million annually to UMass Medical School faculty and scientists whose research shows particular promise for commercialization and translation to a clinical application.

The institution is reinvesting proceeds from previous IP asset commercialization revenues to create the fund, and to invest in the next-generation of UMMS innovation.

Funding is expected to be used for key experiments that attracts commercial sponsors, licensees or investors for start-up. The proposals will also be used to engage the private sector to better understand in what areas there are partners willing to carry this forward to impact.

Criteria:
