Summer Service Learning Assistantship
The UMass Chan Summer Service-learning Assistantship Program establishes new and strengthens existing relationships with community-based health, education and human service organizations through placing rising second year medical students for periods of up to six weeks to work with and for agency staff. Through these summer experiences, students deepen their understanding of the ways in which individual and community health are linked and broaden their understanding of community healthcare problems and needs of traditionally underserved populations.
