Dr. Jie Song was recently awarded a 4-year “Exceptional, Unconventional Research Enabling Knowledge Acceleration” (EUREKA, R01) grant  from the National Institute of General Medical Science to develop nanostructured tissue scaffolds that possess tunable mechanical strength, defined biochemical properties, and minimally invasive delivery and "smart" tissue docking capability. If validated, this new materials design platform can lead to the development of patient-specific and defect-specific "intelligent" tissue grafts and implants that conform to the target tissue both physically and biochemically.
