The Division of Hospital Medicine was created in 1996, and was one of the first major teaching hospitalist programs in the country. Today, Hospital Medicine is one of the largest divisions in the Department of Medicine, comprising more than 60 physician and affiliate practitioner clinicians. In addition to its successful clinical enterprise, the Hospital Medicine division is very active in the Department’s educational programs, and has expanding activities in the realms of Quality Improvement and Research.
