Welcome to the T.H. Chan School of Medicine Office of Admissions
I am delighted that you have reached out to learn about UMass Chan Medical School's T.H. Chan School of Medicine. On our website, you can get detailed information about our admissions process, for both our MD and MD/PhD degree programs. UMass Chan has two regional campuses with unique areas of focus. Population-Based Urban and Rural Community Health (PURCH) track based in Springfield, MA at Baystate Health for students who are committed to learning medicine through the lens of the needs and circumstances of vulnerable communities. Our LEAD@Lahey track based in Burlington, MA at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is for students who intend a career in health care leadership. What excites me the most about being on the faculty here at UMass Chan is how incredibly active and engaged our students are. It is easy to stay in touch with my love for patient care and teaching working side by side with these amazing students.
Our class size of 225 students comprises about 55% Massachusetts residents and 45% out-of-state students. We have a robust and incredibly supportive student community which allows all students to feel at home here regardless of their home town. We use holistic review and applicant-centered processes in assessing experiences, attributes and metrics of our applicants.
