Chunky Spiced Applesauce

  • 10 cups cubed peeled apples (about 3 lbs.)
  • 2 cups cranberries
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch nutmeg

A squeeze of lemon

Combine cranberries and all other ingredients except apples. Bring to a boil and cook until the cranberries pop - about 3 minutes.

Add the apples, cover and simmer until the apples are soft, about 25 minutes. Uncover and cook until desired thickness.
