The University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center (UMMMC) is a 781-licencsed bed facility on three campuses: Hahnemann, Memorial and University. UMMMC is Worcester county’s only Level I trauma center and the referral center for central New England.   UMMMC is the region’s transplantation center and provides liver, kidney, pancreas and bone marrow transplantation.  Radiology residents’ core clinical rotations are provided at the Memorial and University Campuses of (UMMMC) as well as UMass Memorial Medical Imaging Center (UMMIC), our outpatient MRI center.

University Campus is the home to the major teaching and tertiary care hospital for the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS), the medical school and its research facilities including the Albert Sherman Center.  Housed within the Sherman Center is the interprofessional Center for Experiential Learning and Simulation (iCELS), a 24,000 square foot comprehensive simulation center which is utilized by the residency for communications and skills evaluations. 

The Duddie Massad Emergency and Trauma Center is staffed 24/7 by Attending Radiologists who interpret diagnostic imaging studies for this and other Emergency Rooms in the region.  The ACC is a 250,000 square foot facility which houses the ambulatory services of UMass Memorial Health Care’s four Centers of Excellence: Cancer, Diabetes, Heart and Vascular, and Musculoskeletal

UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus

Memorial Campus is a leading provider of acute care services in the greater Worcester area. It is home to primary and specialty care including the region's busiest maternity center.  It is the regional referral center for women with high-risk pregnancies and it provides the region’s only Level III NICU.   

UMMIC is located on Shrewsbury Street just minutes from University and Memorial Campuses. UMMIC is the outpatient MRI imaging center for UMMMC housing three 1.5T MR systems. PET-CT is also performed at this site and interpreted by the Nuclear Medicine Division.

Additional diagnostic imaging studies are performed at a number of outpatient centers in local communities and interpreted via PACs including subspecialist's cases performed at Hahnemann Campus as well as community sites in Westborough, Milford, Southborough, Uxbridge and Barre.
