Who We Are

Judson Brewer M.D., Ph.D., Director of Research, Center for Mindfulness; Associate Professor, Medicine and Psychiatry, UMass Chan Medical School; Adjunct Assistant Professor, Yale School of Medicine; Research Affiliate, Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, MIT.

Dr. Brewer is an internationally known addiction psychiatrist. His research focuses on understanding the neurobiological mechanisms of addiction, as well as on developing innovative treatments for substance use disorders, such as smoking. Committed to making these treatments more accessible for everyone, he is the Principle Investigator of this current study, which investigates the efficacy of smartphone application-based training programs for smoking cessation.
