Dr. Thomas Houston finds that storytelling may help control hypertension
Dr. Thomas Houston, Division Chief of Health Informatics and Implementation Sciences at QHS, has spearheaded a new study which suggests that a storytelling approach - in which recognizable member of a vulnerable community provide positive messages aimed at controlling hypertension through diet and medication adherence - may offer a unique opportunity to communicate positive disease management choices in a culturally appropriate context.
