Welcome to the Department of Quantitative Health Sciences!
We are the youngest department at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Our senior faculty are quantitative methodologists who lead health-related research programs. About half of our senior faculty are physicians as well. We have a passion for the science of moving from discovery to improving individual and population health. Part of our mission is to develop and train the next generation of researchers with whom to share our passion. We believe in science that makes a difference, collective creativity, and social justice through improved health. We also house a Quantitative Methods Core that provides consultative services in biostatistics, epidemiology, health informatics, and patient-reported outcomes measurement, among others. We have several series of meetings open to the campus community, ranging from formal presentations through informal “just-in-time” nascent ideas discussions.
