New $12.3 million NIMH grant explores MISSION recovery model for opioid addiction and mental illness

The Maintaining Independence and Sobriety through Systems Integration, Outreach and Networking model developed at UMass Chan Medical School 25 years ago has been shown to be effective in individuals with addiction and mental illness. Learn about how a research team led by David Smelson, PsyD, will apply the MISSION model to assess the effectiveness of community intervention combined with medication-assisted opioid use disorder treatment.
