Flexible Clinical Experiences | Course Proposal | Student Design | AY2022-2023

The self-designed FCE is your opportunity to develop an experience that isn’t offered anywhere else in the medical school curriculum. These experiences can be done within the medical school or at an outside institution.

It's important to remember that FCEs are not intended to be one-week periods of independent study. Rather, the course offers the student the opportunity and potential to design permanent student-created UMMS curriculum, to demonstrate interest and commitment to top tier residency programs, and to highlight leadership skills and professional competency on your curriculum vitae by engaging in curriculum development as a medical undergraduate.

All self-designed FCEs must be submitted for approval via this form
International FCEs require additional documentation found on the OUME International Medical Education website.
