The teacher created a Reading Center which is an inviting place to read.  The bean bag chairs and furniture are just the right size.  The children go there 4 times a day and take turns picking books.  It gives the students a sense of independence and as a result they are taking charge of their learning.

Newport Field Trip. The students were able to tour 2 mansions and explore the cliff walk.  They all used self-guided audio headsets.  They learned so much about the turn of the century industrialists.  The most amazing part was some of the students have never seen the ocean before.
