The Seven Hills Symphony will hold its next concert, Inspired in America, on Friday, May 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Faculty Conference Room at UMass Medical School.
The musicians will be presenting works by Copland, Gershwin, Hanson, Armstrong and Ellington. In addition, UMass Medical School medical student John “Sully” Sullivan and Young Artist Competition contestants Patrick Chatham and Frank Wang will perform.
The Seven Hills Symphony is dedicated to providing performance opportunities to amateur, student and professional musicians throughout Central Massachusetts and Northeastern Connecticut; to providing the residents of those communities with access to high quality, low cost symphonic music; and to promoting music appreciation and building community through their outreach programs.
Performing a varied repertoire under the leadership of professional conductors, the orchestra strives to create a noncompetitive, nonthreatening musical environment that is welcoming to musicians with a wide range of skill levels.
Admission is free and open to the public, with donations accepted to help fund educational opportunities and future performances.
