The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has awarded the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center at UMass Medical School a contract to design and implement a system to manage all online training offered through the Department of Human Services’ Office of Developmental Programs.
The Shriver Center has a rich history of supporting research, education, and service to improve the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. A unit within Commonwealth Medicine, UMass’ public service consulting and operations division, the Shriver Center has been developing and hosting online courses and learning management for two decades. The Shriver Center will partner on this contract with Pennsylvania-based Adept Consulting Services.
“UMass Medical School is looking forward to working with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to design a system that better manages its online training catalog and makes it more accessible,” said Joyce A. Murphy, executive vice chancellor of Commonwealth Medicine. “The Shriver Center, at its core, is committed to expanding access to knowledge to individuals with all levels of ability.”
A team from the Shriver Center will simplify an extensive network of more than 650 online trainings across 11 platforms into a single learning-management system that integrates user support, course organization, and accessibility for trainees.
