Cyber security expert John Sileo on data protection Oct. 21 and 23

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, a time to remember that universities are not immune to the nefarious tactics employed by cyber-criminals to obtain sensitive data.

Members of the UMass Medical School community have two opportunities to hear from cyber security expert John Sileo about how to protect sensitive information at work and at home. He will be at the South Street Campus on Tuesday, Oct. 21 a.m., and at the Worcester campus on Thursday, Oct. 23.

An award winning author and advisor to corporations, universities and government agencies, Sileo founded the Sileo Group to advise clients on strategies to help them defend and protect their privacy, information and reputations.

The Oct. 21 lecture will be held in the South Street amphitheater from 9 to 10:15 a.m. The Oct. 23 session take place in the Albert Sherman Center auditorium from 3 to 4 p.m. Pre-registration is required, with transportation between South Street and Worcester campus available on Oct. 23.
