GSN class speaker dedicated to patients

For Graduate School of Nursing Class Speaker Nicole Peace, RN, the privilege of nursing is getting to know one’s patients, listening closely and carefully to the stories of their lives.

Peace begins writing the next chapter in her own life June 2, when she accepts her Master’s Degree at the UMass Chan Commencement and continues on to a family nurse practitioner post at a private practice in Leominster.

“I always knew I wanted to help people,” said Peace, a Graduate Entry Pathway student who holds an undergrad degree in psychology. “As nurse practitioners, we’re at the bedside. We work with people very closely and we learn their stories and how that impacts their health.”

In this UMassMedNow video, Peace explains the role of nurse practitioner.
