Cynthia Ennis, DO
Heart disease is the number one killer of women—but it is also preventable. In the spirit of Women’s Education—Women’s Empowerment, the theme of Women’s History Month 2012, Cynthia Ennis, DO, assistant professor of medicine, will focus on this message of hope and call on women to take charge of their heart health in her presentation, “The Way to Treat a Woman’s Heart” at UMass Memorial Medical Center on Tuesday, March 27.
Dr. Ennis, a cardiologist and electrophysiologist, directs the UMass Memorial Women's Heart Health program, a multidisciplinary clinic that is focused on providing comprehensive, integrated cardiology care to women in Central Massachusetts. Committed to preventing as well as treating heart disease, Ennis speaks widely to educate women about their cardiovascular risk factors, signs and symptoms of problems—which can differ in women and men—and prevention measures that women can take to keep their hearts healthy.
The presentation will take place from noon to 1 p.m. in Knowles Hall at UMass Memorial Medical Center—Memorial Campus. A light lunch will be available at 11:30 a.m. To RSVP, contact Karen Mitchell at 508-334-8799 or karen.mitchell@umassmemorial.org.
