O’Brien, president and CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care, talk about how a greater emphasis on primary care can bring costs down while improving the quality of health care. The piece, which marks National Primary Care week, notes that the shortage of primary care physicians will only grow unless solutions, such as expanding the concept of “medical homes,” are more aggressively pursued.
