President-elect Caret tours campus

UMass President-elect Robert L. Caret, PhD, met with groups of UMass Chan administrators, faculty and students on Thursday, June 16, on his first official visit to campus. Dr. Caret, who also received a tour of campus with Chancellor Michael F. Collins and Dean Terence R. Flotte, MD, the Celia and Isaac Haidak Professor in Medicine, provost and executive deputy chancellor, said he was impressed with what he learned on his visit to campus.

The UMass Board of Trustees unanimously elected Caret as president of the five-campus university system in January. The former president of Towson University in Towson, Md., Caret will succeed retiring UMass President Jack M. Wilson, who steps down on June 30.
